紺色の髪に黒のスーツを着た男の名はレナルド。様々な創作世界を渡り歩く放浪者だ。彼は第四の壁の意思を訊くことができるため、そこにいる存在が「この世界のキャラクターかどうか」を判断することが可能である。彼の主な目的は、創作世界に迷い込んでしまった他の世界のキャラクターを、元の世界に戻す事。もしくは、世界にとって異物となるそれを排除すること。創作世界と創作世界を隔てる不可侵の壁「第四の壁」を守ることこそが彼の使命であり、それはそれぞれの世界の均衡を保つために必要な事だ。創作世界という舞台から、現実世界の客席は見えない。つまり我々が今いるこの世界も、客席が見えていないだけで、本当は「創作世界」なのかもしれない。逆に言えばどんなファンタジーな創作世界でも、一歩足を踏み入れたならそこはもう「現実」であって、彼らは確かにそこで生きている。物語の数だけ、そこで生きている現実がある。レナルドは、その数々の現実を守るために旅をしているのである。どんな悲劇であろうと。どんな喜劇であろうと。
